Barcelona is the 6th best city in the world!
Introduction
Barcelona is one of the most visited cities in Spain and again voted in the TOP 10 in 2023 (https://www.worldsbestcities.com/rankings/worlds-best-cities/). And for good reason! There's so much to see and do here, from beautiful beaches and architecture to great food and drinks. Barcelona has something for everyone - even people who aren't big soccer fans (even though one of my favorite things about this city is that it's home to FC Barcelona). If you're planning a trip to Spain anytime soon, make sure you add Barcelona to your itinerary!
There's so much to see in this city.
Barcelona is the city that has everything. You can do anything here, and it’s not just because of its rich history and culture. It also has some stunning scenery and a great food scene. The weather is amazing, too! If you like being outdoors, Barcelona is perfect for you: there are mountains to climb, beaches to walk along (or swim in), parks to explore…and let’s not forget about all the amazing restaurants and cafes where you can sit back and relax with a drink or two.
There are so many things about this city that make me want to stay forever (and actually move there). But if I had to name just one thing it would be the people—Barcelonans are friendly; they love having visitors who come from all over the world here whether it's just for vacation or longer term work opportunities like mine! We truly feel at home when we're here because everywhere around us feels familiar somehow...
The food is great and the drinks are even better.
Barcelona is a foodie's paradise. Major attractions include tapas, paella and churros. Tapas are small portions of food that you eat while standing at the bar. Paella is a rice-based dish that originated in Valencia and can be served with seafood or chicken. Churros are fried dough dipped in thick hot chocolate for dessert!
Flamenco is another famous type of music from Spain, but if you're not into dancing yourself there are many other choices available to you throughout Barcelona: salsa clubs, electronic dance clubs (EDM), pop music venues or even classical performances at L'Auditori which has been voted one of the best concert halls in Europe by The Guardian newspaper!
You can go on a day trip to the mountains in 1 hour or take a nice drive down the coast.
If you can't stand the city for another second, there's no need to worry! You can visit the mountains in just 1 hour and spend a day relaxing or hiking. The coast is also very nice and it usually takes about 2 hours to drive there from Barcelona.
There's a ton of history to learn about here.
Barcelona has a rich history, and it’s been around for thousands of years. The Romans were here, as were the Moors. You can learn all about these cultures by visiting museums and historical sites throughout Barcelona. How much do you know?
There are many hidden gems that you probably didn't know about.
